Your CWdomains Registration Has Moved to Hover
CWdomains has partnered with Hover, a trusted domain registrar, to take over domain registration and management for our customers going forward. Here’s exactly what that means for you — and what stays exactly the same.
What’s Happening
If you’ve received a notice that one of your domains has completed its move, that domain is now registered through Hover instead of directly through CWdomains. This is a change in who holds your domain registration — not a change in who owns it. Your domain still belongs entirely to you.
While Hover is now your domain registrar, Cyber Wurx continues providing your web hosting and other services exactly as we always have.
What’s Changing, What Isn’t
Staying the Same
- Ownership of your domain
- Your DNS settings
- Your website and how it’s configured
- Your domain’s expiration date
- Your Cyber Wurx hosting and other services
What’s Changing
- Your domain registrar of record is now Hover
- Domain registration and renewals are managed through a Hover account
- Domain-related notices (WHOIS, renewal reminders) will come from Hover
How the Migration Works
If you have multiple domains with Cyber Wurx, we’re migrating them into Hover one at a time to ensure a smooth transition. You’ll receive a separate email for each domain as soon as its migration is complete — so don’t be surprised if your domains arrive on different days.
Setting Up Your Hover Account
Hover will email you directly with your account details and a link to sign in (or finish setup, if this is your first domain with them). That email has everything you need — we’re not involved in your Hover account itself, so for sign-in help or account changes, Hover is the place to go.
A Few Things to Take Care Of
- Verify your account details — confirm your email address, mailing address, and DNS settings in Hover so you don’t miss important notices.
- Add a payment method — your domain is set to auto-renew, but this requires a valid card on file in Hover to avoid any risk of expiry. Renewal reminders are sent to the contact listed on your account.
- Complete WHOIS verification if asked — you may receive a separate email asking you to verify your WHOIS contact information. This is an ICANN requirement; please complete it within 15 days to avoid suspension of your domain.
Thinking About Transferring Your Domain Elsewhere?
Your domain is yours, full stop. If you’d ever like to transfer it to a different registrar, you’ll find your authorization code in your Hover account under the domain’s details. Remember to unlock the domain and disable WHOIS privacy before initiating a transfer.
